Students of the North Lake College video technology department share their most recent works at the Third Annual North Lake Video Festival.

Special guests: Michael Cain (Deep Ellum Film Festival), Bill Schwarz (cinematographer/director of photography) and Scott Reeder (producer/director/writer) will speak during the festival. Each will show samples of his work and be readily available for questions from the audience. Festival Schedule:

11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Screening of student work

1 p.m.- 2 p.m. Michael Cain, Deep Ellum Pictures, Inc.

Michael Cain, in 1999, created the Deep Ellum Film Festival. DEFF serves two main purposes, raises funds to aid victims of cancer and promoting Texas (Dallas, in particular) as an excellent place to film production. Cain was the Executive Director of Mystique Films in Los Angeles, California from 1995 to 1997 would oversee production. Mr. Cain's credits include Executive Producing 22 films and 26 shorts for Showtime and HBO, producing seven feature films, 25 commercials and numerous music videos. Cain, a 1990 graduate of the prestigious American Film Institute of Los Angeles, has experience in every facet of the industry.

2 p.m.- 3 p.m. Screening of student work

3 p.m.- 4 p.m. Bill Schwarz, Cinematographer/Director of Photography

Bill Schwarz has been the director of photography on numerous feature films such as: "Pendulum," "Certain Guys," "Finding North" and his latest short film, "Indefinitely." He worked on the LeAnn Rimes "Blue" music video. He also does commercial work, which includes clients such as: American Airlines, Pepsi, SW Bell, Wal-Mart, Target Stores, The Home Depot, Shell Oil and Foot Action.

4 p.m.- 5 p.m. Screening of student work

5 p.m.- 6 p.m. Scott Reeder, Producer/Director/Writer

Scott Reeder is a native of southeast Texas. While attending the University of North Texas, he paid his way through school by working on several feature films as a production assistant and prop assistant. After graduation in 1993, Reeder joined the crew of "Walker, Texas Ranger." While working as assistant prop master on "Walker," he directed, co-wrote and co-produced the independent feature "Boondoggle." His first effort won Best Texas Film at the Deep Ellum Film Festival in 1999. In 2001, Reeder worked as prop master on the feature film, "Roper and Goodie." He is now working with Pulse Media Group as producer and director.

About the Video Technology Program at North Lake College: Successful participants in the Video Technology program graduate with an Associate of Science in Video Technology Degree . They gain knowledge and experience in television production, engineering, post-production, digital imaging, lighting, digital audio, and a host of other industry specific areas. The two-year program is designed for persons interested in entering the video production or television broadcast arena. Students participate in studio and remote productions, in individual and group productions, in classroom and on-the-job training.
