The goal of the Premier Program it to give Texas filmmakers an opportunity to screen their projects in a major market, while giving Dallasites the opportunity to see the work of promising independent filmmakers and learn from their experiences.

On a monthly basis the Deep Ellum Film Festival will premier films shot in Texas or by Texans.

This is your opportunity to get a sneak peak at some of the state’s hottest up and coming filmmakers.

The two films selected for this months screening are; “Espresso Con Panna” a short film directed by Dallas filmmaker Kevin Nash and “5ive” a feature film by San Antonio Filmmaker Domingo Vara. Get a first look at these cool films and the unique techniques used by the filmmakers to bring their vision to the screen. There will be a Q and A with the filmmakers after their screenings.

Art clashes with money in this romantic comedy centered around life in a coffee shop. The life of Antonio, proud owner of a quiet cafe, is thrown into turmoil when he falls in love with a rich developer’s girl friend, Claire, after learning that the developer has designs on his cafe. A bitter struggle for survival and the hand of Claire ensues as the bizarre clientele of the cafe, the IRS and a little light opera join in the fray.
